Simple French Toast
Made this egg toast several times last month just because I had a strong craving for maple syrup. Then I realized this is nearly the same as French Toast, so decided to call it a simple version. Hopefully blog about my usual version of French Toast in the future!
Highly recommend using Milk toast from Asian bakeries (I used whole milk toast from a Korean bakery) for this recipe.
Enjoy this simple and satisfying sweet breakfast for y’all~
Servings: 1
Ingredients:
2 slices toast (each piece about ¾” thick)
2 eggs
1/4 tbsp milk or so
1/4 tsp salt
¼ tsp ground cinnamon (optional, I didn’t use this time)
3-4 tbsp unsalted butter
Maple Syrup for drizzling
Instructions:
1. Beat eggs in a shallow bowl. Whisk in salt, ground cinnamon, and milk.
2. Melt 1 tbsp butter in a skillet.
3. Dip toast in the egg mixture for 10 seconds, make sure 2 sides are evenly covered.
4. Pan-fry the toast slice over medium low heat till golden on both sides. Add another tbsp butter if butter dries up too fast when frying the other side.
5. Repeat for the 2nd slice.
6. Serve warm with generous amount of maple syrup.
